Become an Umpire in Washington

To become a baseball umpire in Washington, you must follow specific steps to get started. Here’s a breakdown of what you need to know:

Contact Your Local Association: Start by contacting the association in your region that oversees the sport you want to officiate. You can find your local association by visiting WOA.Arbitersports.

Navigate to WOA Contacts: Once on the website, locate the “WOA Contacts” section and select baseball or softball. Choose the region closest to you and contact the designated person for that region.

Register and Pay Fees: Your local association will assist you in registering with the Washington Officials Association. After joining and paying the registration fee, you’ll receive notifications about classes, clinics, and training opportunities available in your area.

Exams and Training:

To become a certified umpire, you must pass the NFHS exam. This exam ensures that you have a solid grasp of the rules and are prepared to officiate games as a licensed WOA official.
