All umpires must register with the Nebraska School Activities Association (NSAA)

 Exams, Levels and Training:

  • Registered Umpires: Take the “Part 1” test and score 80%. Pass the “Part 2” exam every five years with a score of 65%.

Besides exams, attending an online pre-season rules meeting is mandatory for umpire games.

Training and Support: The NSAA further serves the needs of Nebraska officials by offering training, evaluation, and mentoring programs benefitting umpires.

Fees and Dues:

Expect to pay registration fees to both your local association and the NSAA. These fees cover essential resources like rule books and exam preparation materials. They also contribute to the administration and resources necessary for officiating.
